About this event

A struggling shop owner starts importing cheap generic medicine from India for patients battling chronic illness - and finds himself caught in a growing moral and legal bind. Inspired by real events, Dying to Survive became one of the most significant Chinese films of the century under director Wen Muye, sparking nationwide conversation about healthcare, inequality and access to medicine. Mixing humour, social commentary and genuine emotional weight, it's a rare feat: a socially conscious film that's also a genuine crowd-pleaser, earning both critical acclaim and box office success. The Hollywood Reporter called it a stirring crowd-pleaser with a social conscience, while Screen International praised its emotional power. Free entry & popcorn - arrive early for sofa, bed, or beanbag seating.
