About this event

Torn between two countries, two futures and two versions of herself, a young Irish immigrant tries to find her footing in 1950s New York in Brooklyn, directed by John Crowley and adapted from Colm Tóibín's acclaimed novel. Saoirse Ronan earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance as Eilis, anchoring a film that's elegant, understated and quietly devastating in its exploration of home, displacement and the choices that shape a life. Widely praised for its emotional intelligence and performances, it's become one of the standout romantic dramas of the past decade. The New York Times called it a profoundly moving story of love and belonging, while Variety praised its craft and emotional impact.
