Cambodian cinema rose fast starting in 1960 - then vanished almost entirely when the Khmer Rouge seized power in 1975. Most films were lost, actors were killed, and the theaters that once showed them became restaurants or karaoke bars. Golden Slumbers, Davy Chou's 2011 documentary, tracks down the few survivors left to tell that story, attempting to resurrect the spirit of a cinema nearly erased from memory. Screening followed by a Q&A with Davy Chou. Khmer & French with English subtitles | $3 | 100 minutes
