About this event

It’s June 1944, 150,000 men and the biggest invasion in history are ready to cross the Channel, and everything hinges on the weather. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser) has two forecasters telling him opposite things - American star meteorologist Irving Krick (Chris Messina) predicts clear skies, while Scottish scientist James Stagg (Andrew Scott) insists a storm is coming. Stagg has no proof, no charm and almost no time, and if he’s wrong, men drown on the beaches. Adapted from David Haig’s stage play, most of “Pressure” (2026) plays out as people arguing over weather maps in rooms - and somehow ends up more gripping than war films with ten times the explosions. Andrew Scott is excellent as a man who can barely manage small talk but has to convince the most powerful general on earth to trust him, while Fraser plays Eisenhower as someone quietly buckling under the weight of the decision. Kerry Condon and Damian Lewis (as Montgomery) round out the cast. The Chicago Tribune called it “thrilling and history-making,” while Nell Minow of RogerEbert.com described it as a tense, sober, powerful WWII drama. Monday, November 9 | 8:00PM TicTic, Phnom Penh Free entry & popcorn - arrive early for sofa, bed, or beanbag seating
