Cult Movie Mondays: Tuner (2026)
About this event
Niki White, a gifted New York piano tuner, has perfect pitch bundled with hyperacusis, a condition that makes ordinary sound physically painful - hence the earplugs he never takes off. Working under veteran tuner Harry Horowitz, Niki discovers his exacting ear for pianos translates disturbingly well to cracking safes, pulling him into a security operation run by the watchful, dangerous Uri. Leo Woodall stars alongside Dustin Hoffman, warm and very funny as Horowitz, in Tuner, the narrative feature debut from Daniel Roher, who won an Oscar for the documentary Navalny. It's a real gear-shift for Roher - tense, funny, and unexpectedly tender around the edges thanks to Hoffman's performance as a mentor who knows exactly how thin the margin is between a decent life and a ruined one. A genuine festival-circuit surprise out of Telluride and Toronto. The Daily Beast called it one of 2026's biggest surprises and undisputed highlights, while The Hollywood Reporter described it as an engaging mix of character study and suspense caper. Cult Movie Mondays: Tuner (2026) Monday, October 5th | 8:00 PM | TicTic, Phnom Penh
