About this event

A fourteen-year-old girl hires a hard-drinking U.S. Marshal to track down her father's killer - and sets in motion one of the great modern Westerns. True Grit, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen and adapted from Charles Portis' celebrated novel, stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin and Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld in a reimagining that brings intelligence, humour and real emotional weight to a classic genre. Nominated for ten Academy Awards, the film won over critics and audiences alike for its performances, cinematography and fidelity to Portis' novel, turning a familiar revenge story into a deeper meditation on justice, courage and resilience.
