"Fragments of the Guardians" by Norwyn

The first solo exhibition in Cambodia by Myanmar-born, Phnom Penh-based artist Nyan Win Maw (Norwyn). Acrylic paintings on paper and canvas depicting mythological protectors from Myanmar and Khmer traditions — dragons, lions, hybrid guardians — rendered in luminous gold with intricate floral motifs. But these guardians appear fractured. Beneath the ornament, skeletal structures show through, speaking to the vulnerability beneath the grandeur of great civilisations. Running until April 14.
