About this event

Two documentaries share the screen for this session, both tracing community-led efforts to protect Cambodia's threatened forests. Jungle Guard (57 min), directed by Makara Ouch, follows Buddhist monks and local community members patrolling the Rukhavorn community forest against illegal logging and poaching, highlighting the connection between faith and conservation. REDD in Prey Long (29 min), directed by Allan Michaud (2009), explores the biodiversity of the Prey Lang forest and how the REDD initiative works to combat climate change, prevent deforestation, and sustain indigenous livelihoods.
