About this event
At the heart of Ly Sokvichea's practice lies a deep commitment to Cambodia's vernacular architectural heritage - the diverse structures found within Buddhist temple compounds, often overshadowed by the country's more famous ancient stone temples. Her solo exhibition Ponlok (แแแแแ), meaning "sprout" in Khmer, brings together years of work documenting buildings and decorative traditions made vulnerable by rapid development, neglect and a changing climate, alongside a parallel body of work reimagining traditional Khmer mural and temple painting through contemporary digital illustration. Together, documentation and reinterpretation form two halves of a single question, connecting past to future and conservation to imagination - much like a sprout pushing up through the earth, the exhibition stands for growth and the enduring spirit of Cambodian creativity. Exhibition Period: July 10 โ August 30, 2026 8:00 AM โ 9:00 PM Shophouse Studio (Pteah Chas)
