Recovering UN vehicles from Khmer Rouge-controlled territory was just the beginning for Ian "Snow" Woodford, who arrived in Phnom Penh in the early nineties and never really left, eventually trading that perilous work for teaching, then for founding the legendary bar Maxene's. Tim Corrigan's Snow (2014, 40 min) captures him as the spirited raconteur he was, someone who revelled in the mayhem of modern Cambodia while holding deep respect for its people - a colourful account of expat life, tempered throughout by the political violence and instability he witnessed firsthand.
